Mortal Kombat Soundtrack: feat. Skrillex, Felix Cartal, Harvard Bass + More

3…2…1…FIGHT. The Mortal Kombat IX Soundtrack is due out April 5th, two weeks before the actual title release on Xbox360 and PS3, and it features tracks done by some of the heaviest hitters in techno. Each track on the soundtrack was character inspired, with the track supposedly embodying what the producer saw in the character. In my opinion this soundtrack is a step in the positive direction when it comes to marketing and gaming, as the bridge between video games and electronic music was built naturally over our younger years. We’ve got a few tracks for you to preview below, just remember this is a video game soundtrack, not a dance music album. View the tracklist below as well.

Skrillex‘s new unreleased track Reptile has been floating around the internet for a little while now, and it turns out that MK is using it for their soundtrack for Reptile’s theme. You can also see other various brand names – Felix Cartal, Congorock, and JFK of MSTRKRFT all taking on this endeavor. Of the tracks featured below, the Skrillex and Them Jeans themes are my favorite.

01. Deathstalker (Scorpion’s Theme) – JFK of MSTRKRFT
02. Mileena’s Theme – Tokimonsta
03. Helado (Sub-Zero’s Theme) – Harvard Bass
04. Liu Kang’s Theme – Congorock
05. Goro’s Theme – Bird Peterson
06. Reptile’s Theme – Skrillex
07. Raiden’s Theme – 9th Wonder
08. Johnny Cage’s Theme – LA Riots
09. Baraka’s Theme – Run DMT
10. Kung Lao’s Theme – Felix Cartal
11. Kano’s Theme – Them Jeans
12. Shao Kahn’s Theme – Sound Of Stereo

Hi,I love this theme. I just downloaded it and I inltsaled it. I have no problem adding a new category, however the new categories will not show up when I view the blog. I can edit the name of the original home category and that displays fine with the new name. Any ideas?
