It’s always refreshing to hear a fresh take on a track that has been mixed to death. Daze‘s delightful, unique take on Ellie Goulding’s Starry Eyed really caught my eye and pushed me to find out what they were all about. No surprise that Daze is a project born in Rouen, France during early 2009. The group cites their influences as a combination of the Amiga computer’s demoscene and the lovely electro funk music of the 80′s. Their first release, a free EP distributed over the internet was a clash of electro and house sounds that fuzed pretty well together but not anything extraordinary. As of late they have been experimenting with more a more disco and pop feel that has an electronic overtone. Their recent remixes are a work of art and definitely deserve a listen.
