Harvard Bass is about to school you in techno. His latest offering on the Turbo Recordings sub-imprint Twin Turbo reaches deep into the warehouse for that deep, musky vibe that ardent techno fans know and love. Both originals Erasers and Chalk are deep, acid-laden tracks that conjure up the old farmhouse party in the middle of nowhere, as Harvard Bass is accustomed to doing with his productions. Erasers in particular is quite the party-starter, coercing the listener to “DO IT RIGHT NOW” with the demanding sample and tension builds. The sonar bleeps give it that true underground edge, while the pulsing bass keeps listeners wondering what’s around the corner. Chalk is more of a growler, highlighted by the alien-like synth and rapid drum patterns. It’s hypnotic and not the least bit melodic – a real burner with high sweat potential. On the remix treatment for Chalk is fellow Californian Pilo, who adds a real manic and hectic twist to the original. Brain scrambler! Listen to the full EP and if you dig it, support HB at the links.
