Broken Social Scene are group that formed in 1999 in Toronto, Canada. Originally a 2 piece band consisting of Kevin Drew and Brendan Canning, by 2001, when they started touring, they realized they needed the help of additional musicians and singers to flesh out the sound live. The first album, Feel Good Lost is mostly ambient and instrumental and does not represent what the band sounds like now. Rather, it contained hints of what the band would achieve. By 2002, the two piece band had become a six-piece band at its core, and a 15-19 piece band live. In 2002 they released You Forgot It In People, a defining album in indie rock. The album is grand and large, yet at the same time minimal and intimate. It is loud and soft at the same time. It features blazing guitars and fast drums, as well as slow piano ballads. The album is full of emotion, energy, pain, sorrow, happiness and joy. Too much focus on that album, what I really need to stress is the quality of their live shows which have earned much acclaim from fans and critics alike. Personally haven’t had the chance to see them live, so I won’t be missing the opportunity this April and neither should you!

Bonus Coachella! - DJ Marky
DJ Marky comes from Brazil and brings with him some serious skills. He is a very technical dj that is superb at mixing records. Marky began playing dnb in the early 90′s and by the late 90′s was in London meeting with huge names such as Hype and Goldie. He has been named as one of the top djs by Knowledge magazine, Ericsson Muzik Awards, Ministry mag, DJ mag, and URB. He gained huge popularity when his hit LK was released as well as his compilation The Brazilian Job. “The album proved a perfect showcase for the talents of DJ Marky, combining tracks and scratching techniques in flawless fashion and showing that element of flair and creativity sorely lacking at the time from the Drum & Bass scene.” – Windish

LK. i remember when martian and i were a couple weirdos that listened to liquid and drum and bass. LK was one of the tracks that made me fall in love with dnb. when you run through music its hard to stop and enjoy the sights. But to this day i still think it is one of the best dnb tracks out there and i will continue to listen to this song for daaayyyysss.<3
