The perfect example of creativity and passion coagulating into a shining success, the story of Animal Collective and the music they play is enthralling.  The gentlemen met as children in Baltimore, and slowly picked up members throughout high school, during which they were exploring, experimenting and recording music the entire time.  Inspired by soundscapes and psychedelic sounds they recorded tirelessly, and worked almost independently towards this dream.  Eventually a record label was created to release one of their albums, which morphed into their label Animal, and now Paw Tracks.  Curiously and like a true collective, the Animal Collective name can be used to release tracks by any combination of the four members Panda Bear, Deakin, Geologist, and Avey Tare.  Described anywhere from indie-rock to neo-psychedelic rock, Animal Collective, brings a raw and soulful power to modern-rock reminiscent of some of the classics.  Free and shameless, these gentlemen continuously release sounds that push the boundary of what we are used to, and what the public will listen to.  Critics claimed their most recent album Merriweather Post Pavillion (2009) was their most accessible to date, as the album made it to the top 20 in US Charts.
