The mysterious masked man currently taking the underground house scene by storm is Claptone, and he’s back with another EP on Exploited Records after his hugely successful first EP which featured the track Cream that sat atop the beatport deep house charts for weeks on weeks. Little is known about Claptone, except for he’s receiving support from some of the biggest DJs and tastemakers in the EDM realm, and he’s got quite the ear for flipping old samples and tracks into deep, sexy hits. Stars like A-Trak, Claude VonStroke, Riva Starr, Noir, DJ Sneak and many more are on the Claptone train, and A-Trak has even hinted in one of his Fools Gold Radio podcasts that Claptone might be the project of an already established name in the electronic music world. We may never know, and it might be better that way.
In the new EP Claptone tranforms The Doors’ classic Light My Fire and Mobb Deep‘s Shook Ones
