Carte Blanche (DJ Mehdi+Riton) aren’t anywhere near new kids on the block, as they’ve both been big parts of the European techno scene for years. Mehdi‘s been an Ed Banger Rec mainstay and Riton‘s been doing his thing remixing big names since 05, but as a single project Carte Blanche’s first release came only just over a year ago. Just a couple days ago they released their most recent EP White Man On The Moon and it includes the gem of a track With You, which features Hot Chip vocalist Alexis Taylor, and I gotta say I LOVE IT. It’s got a late night island groove emphasized by those steel drums, soothing emotional vocals that penetrate a psyche, and an old school vibe played out by the keyboard. A blissful track in an age where bass and crazy synths rule. Just the breath of fresh electro air I needed. Purchase/Preview White Man On The Moon HERE.
