Last year Amirali broke onto the scene as a worldwide phenomenon in alternative house circles upon the sudden first release of his full-length debut album In Time on Crosstown Rebels. The stunning piece of work was too good not to notice, and created a buzz around Amirali that lead his fans wondering what else could come from him.
The answer is more music, as he continued his onslaught with two more EPs and various remixes. He also took part in a nice touring schedule that saw him hit many hot spots around the globe, and with the support of Crosstown and Damian Lazarus it’s assumed that the dude has style. We can attest, as we had not expected much when we stumbled onto his set at this years Get Lost in LA, and were we ever impressed. His live setup consists of a Roland keyboard, APC40, vocoder and a laptop, and is all constructed live with his own original music. He used this setup for his BBC Radio1 Essential Mix, and is a journey in classic Amirali house and techno. Perfectly constructed melodically, venturing into all types of emotions, with the end product being nothing short of astounding. Put Amirali on your radar if you hadn’t already done so.
